Crimson Moon is a third-person action RPG built around replayable hunts. You clear ward objectives, collect temporary power and gear, defeat bosses, then return to the church hub to strengthen future runs.
Play official videoThe hunt loop
Choose a mission at the War Table, enter a ward and complete its objective. Objectives can focus on clearing enemies, defeating elites or interacting with mission targets. A successful route leads through Nexus Gates and eventually into a boss encounter.
The environments are handcrafted, while enemies, objectives, loot and route decisions create variation between attempts. The repeatable structure is designed around learning the level and experimenting with a stronger build on the next run.
Your combat kit
Stamina and spacing keep the combat deliberate. Long combinations can feel powerful, but an empty stamina bar removes your safest escape. The best approach is to treat every encounter as a sequence of short commitments rather than one continuous attack string.
- Light and heavy attack chains for reliable damage.
- Sprint, jump and dodge attacks for positional pressure.
- Blocking and timed parries for defence and counters.
- Finishers against vulnerable elite enemies.
- Weapon Arts that spend mana for mobility, range, control or burst.
- Angelic transformation as a high-impact power window.
How a build changes during a run
Your starting gear and Angel establish a direction. Equipment drops and temporary Boons then reinforce or redirect that plan. Frost can control groups, damage effects can pressure bosses, and sustain effects can turn frequent kills into health or mana.
Nexus Gate choices are the main decision points. When one option strengthens the build you already have, consistency is usually better than starting an unrelated synergy halfway through a hunt.
Progress between hunts
Sanctus Clypeus is the permanent hub. Purified equipment expands your loadout options, while NPC systems support upgrades, consumables, Boon unlocks and mission preparation. Even failed runs can contribute experience and knowledge, but unsecured equipment remains at risk.
