Does Crimson Moon Have Classes?

Crimson Moon has no traditional classes. Learn how gear, Weapon Arts, Boons and Angels replace a permanent class choice.

Quick answer

No. Crimson Moon does not use traditional character classes. Your role is created from four connected systems: gear, Weapon Arts, temporary Boons and your selected Angel.

A classless build system

Every Nephilim begins without being locked into a warrior, mage, rogue or support class. The equipment you carry and the powers you combine determine whether the current build feels aggressive, defensive, mobile, elemental or sustain-focused.

That freedom also means class searches should be interpreted as build questions. Instead of asking which class is strongest, ask which effects, Weapon Arts and Angel best support the combat pattern you want to play.

The four parts of every build

  • Gear supplies stats, weapons, armour, trinkets and build-defining effects.
  • Weapon Arts give equipped weapons active abilities with their own cooldowns and mana costs.
  • Boons add temporary effects during a hunt and can reinforce an existing synergy.
  • Angels complete the loadout with another high-impact combat choice.

Think in archetypes, not class names

A Frost control setup, an aggressive Rage build and a defensive co-op loadout are useful descriptions because they explain what the equipment actually does. They are community shorthand, not official permanent classes.

When building, choose one repeatable trigger—such as sprint attacks or light attacks—then stack effects that reward that trigger. Add one defensive or sustain layer before chasing another source of damage.

Roles in co-op

Two players can create complementary roles without a formal tank or healer system. One build can focus on control while the other delivers burst damage, or both players can stack the same elemental pressure. These are player-created roles rather than named classes.

Quick answers

Can I change my playstyle?

Yes. Changing equipment, Weapon Arts, Boons and your Angel changes the build without requiring a class change.

What is the best Crimson Moon class?

There is no official class list. Compare complete builds and their synergies instead.

Are there fixed co-op roles?

No fixed roles are defined. Partners create complementary jobs through their loadouts.
